Vitamin C oxidation problem

Issues with existing Vitamin C Products

The most significant challenge when incorporating vitamin C into products is the instability of L-ascorbic acid in aqueous formulations.

It rapidly converts to yellow dehydroascorbic acid (DHA or DHAA), deteriorating irreversibly and cannot revert back to L-ascorbic acid.
Depending on conditions, as much as 50% of the content can degrade within a week.

As a result, most products with high concentrations of vitamin C currently have a shelf life of 12 months or less under cold (4 °C) storage conditions.

Ciracle scientist's Solution for the unstable high- concentration Vitamin C formula

1. Anhydrous formula to prevent water from promoting vitamin oxidation

2. Developed microparticulate vitamin C powder to optimize dispersion in formula to adapt vitamin C to anhydrous formulation

- micronizing pure vitamin C using air jet milling

3. Developed anhydrous formula with excellent dispersion and stability of Vitamin C

- dispersing high-concentration vitamin C into a glossy oil to prevent oxidation

Ciracle Radiance Whitening Essence

Ciracle Radiance Whitening Essence is an anhydrous formula with two layers during storage and a stable dispersion of  Vitamin C 24%. Shake the two layers well during use.

This is a revolutionary product that can be stored at room temperature (not cold) and used for 36 months without vitamin C oxidation. Additionally, Its texture is excellent !!

Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant drug that can be used topically in dermatology to treat and prevent changes associated with photoageing. It can also be used for the treatment of hyperpigmentation.

A few clinical studies have demonstrated that vitamin C can improve wrinkles. One study showed that daily use of a vitamin C formulation for at least three months improved the appearance of fine and coarse wrinkles of the face and neck, as well as improved overall skin texture and appearance.

Vitamin C may also help protect the skin from harmful ultraviolet rays when used in combination with a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Clinical studies have shown that combining vitamin C with other topical ingredients, namely ferulic acid and vitamin E, can diminish redness and help protect the skin from long-term damage caused by harmful sun rays.

Further, Vitamin C interacts with the copper (Cu) ions at the tyrosinase active site and inhibits action of the enzyme tyrosinase, thereby reducing melanin formation. It also acts on the perifollicular pigment.

vitamin C can reduce the appearance of dark spots by blocking the production of pigment in our skin. In clinical trials, the majority of the participants applying topical vitamin C had improvement in their dark spots with very little irritation or side effects (Fig. 1)

Additionally, topical vitamin C can help with acne through its anti-inflammatory properties that help control sebum (oil) production within the skin. In clinical trials, twice-daily application of vitamin C reduced acne lesions when compared to placebo.
